More Sapphic Time Travel Books to Read After You Finish This Is How You Lose the Time War
Now that This Is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone has reached number 9 on the New York Times Bestsellers in print paperback (as of this writing), it’s time for another roundup of books featuring lesbian time travelers!
I wrote about a handful of similar titles in a previous post and have since learned about more books in this genre. The lists are separated into those with romance and those that may or may not have romance.
No doubt most of these books will continue to languish in relative obscurity because a) few titles get massive, organic word-of-mouth visibility and b) we all know that the sales spike for This Is How You Lose the Time War is only about that particular book, not any other book in the genre. Sapphic time travel books aren’t about to become wildly popular across the board. In this case, a rising tide won’t lift all boats.
That said, as a longtime fan of sci-fi romance, I want to keep spreading the word about sapphic time travel books even if I only reach one reader. They are worthwhile stories. I know this even if I’m only one of an incredibly small group of fans.
Furthermore, Hollywood won’t give us shows or movies about sapphic time travelers anytime soon (unless the recent sales for This Is How You Lose the Time War are so spectacular that it begs a film option), so books are all we’ve got to entertain us at the moment.
For those of you who want to embark on more than one sapphic time travel adventure, here’s a list of books you can explore!

About the author
Heather Massey (she/her) is a geek mom who's the proud parent of a terrific daughter and married to the love of her life. Heather is best known for her sci-fi romance blog The Galaxy Express.
Though she’s neither an award-winning nor bestselling author (thank you for not judging!), her stories provide quality entertainment by way of fantastical worlds, action-adventure, and larger-than-life characters who fall in love while battling evils such as classist jerks, corporate greed, the patriarchy, and corrupt politicians.
